ToggleKeys
ToggleKeys is a feature of Microsoft Windows. It is an accessibility function which is designed for people who have a visual impairment or cognitive disabilities. When ToggleKeys is turned on, the computer will provide sound cues when the locking keys (⇪Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock) are pressed. A high-pitched sound plays when the keys are switched on and a low-pitched sound plays when they are switched off.

One of my clients asked me about the easiest way to convert files. So I thought I'd share my thoughts with others of my readers.
If the original file is less than 1 megabyte in size you can email it as an attachment to the appropriate email address and, the converted file will be emailed back.

Victor Reader Stream - an Overview
A number of my blind and partially sighted clients now use a Victor Reader Stream, so I thought it a good time to share some information about it on this website. My clients use it for a number of things. Here's some of them:
- to listen to to mp3 music files;
- listen to DAISY format books;
- listen to other audio audio books such as those from Audible;
- listen to mp3 audio files and books;
- listen to text files;
- have a library of voice notes.

Many of us are aware that Microsoft is preparing the next version of its Windows Operating System (OS). for those of us interest in assistive technology the big question is what they are building in the the new OS in terms of its accessibility. HumanWare recently released new versions of the Victor Reader Stream firmware and the Humanware Companion software.
Victor Reader Stream users can get version 3.4.6 of the Stream software, and 3.5.6 of the Stream Companion program, using the Check for Update feature of the Companion. The upgrade provides navigational enhancements in DAISY and text books and improvements in handling documents in Russian.
