I updated my iPad to iOS 7 at the weekend and there are a couple of extra elements on the Accessibility. I'm particuarly interested in VoiceOver which is the screen reader part that is useful to blind and partially sighted people. In particular I like
  • the larger cursor for VoiceOver for those with some sight;
  • the facility to use handwriting to unlock the front screen so you aren't announcing you passcode to the worls;

Accessible iPad Apps

iPads are one of the hottest technologies of the last five years. My nephew, who is dyslexic, has found his to be a great help. For him the clarity of the screen has ben its greatest selling point. That has got me wondering about iPad Apps that might be useful across other disabilities. I've been delving around the 'net and here are some articles I found interesting.

Apple's iPad Accessibility (iPad2)

Well, anyone who knows me, knows that I am a bit of a gadget woman. However until recently I have avoided anything Apple. I'm not quite sure why. Certainly in my training business, I specialise in software packages that run on PCs, such as Jaws, Supernova, Zoomtext, Magic, Lunar, Openbook and Kurzweil.
